Our International Insights enhancement package supports UK Members in their international work through activities and resources for staff at all levels involved in:

  • developing, managing, supporting and monitoring international partnerships and TNE arrangements
  • developing and delivering international programmes
  • supporting international students wherever they are studying
  • overseeing quality assurance and enhancement of international activity
  • recruiting international students.

What's included

The programme consists of webinars, resources and publications based around five areas.


International partnership management
  • Focusing on aspects of the partnership journey such as institutional strategy and reflection, due diligence, setting up, managing, reviewing and developing international partnerships.
  • Considering areas such as type of arrangements, managing risk, sustainability, connections and exit strategies. 
  • Offering professional development opportunities for staff new to international partnership work and those with experience.
Supporting and enhancing the experience of international students in the UK
  • Focusing on aspects of the international student journey such as pre arrival, induction, transition and integration, academic support and skills, and careers and employability.
  • Considering areas such as provider requirements and external compliance, development of a global community, and the role of professional services and non-academic staff in supporting international students.
International partnerships in action
  • Focusing on specific provider partnerships to share effective, innovative practice in areas such as strategy, partnership arrangements, research and exchange.
Country and territory resources
  • Reports on three countries a year, focusing on the higher education landscape, quality assurance and UK TNE.
  • Webinars to support the reports, involving UK and international stakeholders. 
  • Spotlights on international higher education quality assurance agencies outlining their role and remit in their region.
International Partnerships, Policy and Practice Network
  • Opportunity to participate in the International Insights Partnerships, Policy and Practice Network to discuss and share thoughts on developments, current issues, opportunities and challenges which impact on international activities.

International Insights members have an opportunity to discuss particular items related to the areas above in an individual, confidential meeting with the QAA International team.

Staff and students from over 120 member institutions are already benefiting from the International Insights package. Join today to be part of our growing community.


Our International Insights package is optional for members in England. To add International Insights to your QAA Membership, send us an email or speak to your Membership Engagement Manager. It can be added as part of your institution’s yearly QAA membership renewal or separately.

In Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland, members have an all-inclusive QAA Membership package, which automatically includes the International Insights enhancement package.
