Announcing the new writing group members

We are delighted to announce the members of the writing groups for the next three sets of Advice and Guidance supporting the 2024 UK Quality Code.

These expert readers and writers, appointed from across the sector, will develop the second tranche of Advice and Guidance from September 2025 to June 2026 covering:

  • Principle 3: Resourcing delivery of a high-quality learning experience
  • Principle 6: Engaging in external review and accreditation
  • Principle 9: Recruiting, selecting and admitting students

A sector-led collaboration

Dr Andy Smith, QAA’s Quality and Standards Manager, said: "We're excited to welcome our new writing and reading group members and look forward to collaborating in the months ahead. Their valuable contributions are key to ensuring the UK Quality Code and its supporting Advice and Guidance continue to be a meaningful, sector-led resource for higher education providers across the UK and beyond.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who expressed interest in joining this work. It’s encouraging to see such a strong commitment from colleagues across the sector, willing to share their time and expertise."

Over 50 experts from 30+ higher education institutions across the UK are contributing to our writing groups. See the full list of members.

UK Quality Code 2024

The 2024 edition of the UK Quality Code, which was published in June 2024, will be accompanied by Advice and Guidance aligning to each of the Quality Code’s 12 Sector-Agreed Principles. The Advice and Guidance helps providers to unpack and engage with each of the Quality Code’s Principles and Key Practices.
