QAA publishes guide to supportive classroom cultures

QAA has published a brief guide to 'Designing Classroom Cultures for Student Success' as part of its Practice Matters series of regular publications exclusive to QAA Members designed to help teaching practitioners and student support professionals to enhance the quality of their provision in these challenging times.

This new guide includes a series of top tips and a digest of relevant resources, as well as sets of reflective questions to support the development of effective practice in this area.

It emphasises that cultures of belonging take time to grow – and that robust, clear, inclusive and supportive channels of communication with students are essential to ensuring that those students are able to develop confidence in, and to feel comfortable in, their learning environments.

The new publication also considers practical steps that can be taken to foster environments in which all students feel heard, respected and empowered, and which demonstrate how we value the diversity of students' perspectives and experiences.
