QAA successfully confirmed on European register

Date: March 28 - 2019

QAA's inclusion as part of the European Quality Assurance Register (EQAR) has been confirmed until 2023.

In its assessment, the Register Committee concluded that QAA 'continues to comply substantially' with European Standards and Guidelines.

While QAA is fully compliant in 12 of the 14 areas assessed, the Committee reinforced the recommendation made by the ENQA review panel:

  • to include students in review teams for General Osteopathic Council reviews, Transnational Education reviews and Higher Education Review for alternative providers

It also placed the following expectation on our work:

  • to clearly distinguish between our external quality assurance and other activities in published documents, in a way that is understandable even for less informed audiences.

Fiona Crozier, QAA's Head of International, said: 'QAA is delighted to have further recognition of its credibility and of the professionalism and integrity with which it approaches its work.

'The agency strives to work to the highest possible standards and inclusion on EQAR provides important public recognition of the success of those efforts.'

EQAR is a register of external quality assurance agencies, listing only those agencies that have demonstrated substantial compliance with the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area.

EQAR aims to provide the public with clear and reliable information on quality assurance agencies operating in Europe, and the register is therefore web-based and freely accessible.
