Tom Navin is a graduate theoretical physicist who specialised his thesis in particle physics and string theory. He is currently building a profile in the HE sector, influencing policy and ensuring quality in the delivery of education. As VP Education at Swansea University, Tom has already introduced positive changes in his new approach to Extenuating Circumstances, moving towards a self-declaration approach and ensuring wider student commitments are encompassed within the policy. Tom is also a strong advocate for student responsibility and autonomy, ensuring students at University are treated like the young adults which they are.
