The Introduction to Quality course was a great starting point before I began a new role in the quality team. It introduced key terminology, clarified the role of QAA, and highlighted the resources available. It gave me the confidence and foundation I needed.

Who it's for: The Quality Lab is your entry point, offering short sessions to build foundational skills before progressing to the Academy. It is designed for academic and professional services staff who are new to quality, or who contribute to quality processes as part of wider roles - ideal for anyone seeking a clear, accessible introduction to quality practice.

What it helps you achieve: Quality work can feel complex, especially for colleagues who are new to it. The Quality Lab provides the supported space staff need to explore approaches, understand principles and develop confidence before applying them in practice.
What you'll gain: Workshops combine practical insight, reflective discussion and real examples to increase understanding of institutional approaches. Participants gain clearer routes to effective practice and benefit from shared learning with peers facing similar challenges.

What makes this distinct: Interactive, collaborative and responsive to sector developments, the Quality Lab delivers short, high‑value sessions grounded in real institutional experience. Each workshop is shaped by the participants' needs so every session is relevant, useful and immediately applicable to your work.

Who it’s for: Designed for academic and professional services staff who want to develop strong, confident expertise in quality assurance and enhancement. Some familiarity with institutional processes is helpful, and many people begin with the 'Step Into' workshops. The programme is suitable for UK members only.

What it helps you achieve: Colleagues in quality‑facing roles often need deeper understanding of external reference points, regulatory expectations and quality management across different contexts. This supports staff stepping into new responsibilities or looking to strengthen existing knowledge.

What you'll gain: You'll build the confidence and capability to carry out quality responsibilities effectively and sustainably. The programmes explore the UK quality and regulatory landscape, external reference points, and approaches to quality management, with signposting to further tools and resources. Each cohort forms a valuable peer network for continued support and shared practice.

What makes it distinct: As the UK’s recognised quality experts, QAA provides insight and practical guidance unmatched across the sector. The Quality Academy is designed to build consistent, confident and resilient quality practice at every level.
