QAA seeks new members of key student committee

Date: June 5 - 2026

QAA is looking to appoint new members to its Student Strategic Advisory Committee (SSAC).

SSAC acts as an advisory committee to QAA's Board of Directors, providing strategic advice and guidance to inform its decision-making, particularly in relation to QAA's work with students. The Committee also informs our ongoing work and strategic direction in relation to student engagement activities and the operation and development of a range of QAA initiatives. In addition, SSAC consults with students across the sector to underpin the findings and recommendations of its own research projects.

We are seeking applications from current learners, students or apprentices in higher/tertiary education, any person who has graduated within the last two years, or any current elected student representative or students’ union (or representative body) staff member.

We particularly welcome applications from those with experience of progressing into higher education through an Access to HE course, HE students currently studying at college, independent provider or small/specialist institution, those studying for an HE apprenticeship, and those with experience of studying internationally.

SSAC meets three times during each academic year and committee members are expected to participate in these three meetings, as well as an in-person induction for members. It is expected that meetings will be held online.

Applications are open until Friday 3 July 2026 (closing at 23:45 that day). Please visit the Student Strategic Advisory Committee (SSAC) webpage to download our recruitment pack and complete the application form.
