QAA renews MoU with Bangladesh Accreditation Council

Date: July 24 - 2026

The Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Bangladesh Accreditation Council, renewing an agreement originally signed in 2022.

Established in 2018, the Bangladesh Accreditation Council is responsible for accrediting higher education institutions in Bangladesh in order to ensure the quality of HE provision, and for the implementation of the Bangladesh National Qualification Framework.

Underpinned by the principles of mutual understanding and mutual recognition, the new MoU commits the two organisations to share information related to the latest developments, challenges and best practice in higher education and its quality assurance, and information on their nations' HE and quality systems, as well as to share expertise and opportunities for staff development. It also makes provision for the two organisations to work together to advise on quality assurance and enhancement practices affecting transnational education and to support the development of UK-Bangladeshi institutional partnerships.
