QAA Cymru publishes latest annual report on Welsh language engagement

Date: January 23 - 2023

QAA Cymru has published the latest annual report on its engagement with the Welsh Language (Wales) Measure 2011 during academic year 2021-22.

The report demonstrates how we comply with our commitments to the Welsh Language Standards (No. 2 regulations) 2016 in service delivery, operations, policy-making and record-keeping, as well as our wider commitment to the Welsh language and its role in higher education in Wales.

QAA’s widespread commitment to the Welsh language includes a dedicated cross-organisational Welsh Language Working Group. The group has oversight of the Welsh Language Standards at QAA and develops approaches and best practice for the benefit of the organisation and Welsh language speakers who engage with us.

Commenting on the publication of the report, Alastair Delaney, DCEO of QAA said:

‘We’re proud of the progress we’re continuing to make in ensuring that what we do is as accessible and inclusive as possible for Welsh speakers. This is a cornerstone of our developing work in Wales and our commitment to supporting Welsh Government's Cymraeg 2050 strategy. We will continue to develop our QAA Cymru content and seek opportunities to further extend our Welsh language commitments in the year ahead.”
