Calling academic and sector experts: Help review the next Subject Benchmark Statements

The Quality Assurance Agency is inviting expressions of interest from academic communities to join the Subject Advisory Groups for the review of six Subject Benchmark Statements and the development of one new Statement.
QAA leads the development of Subject Benchmark Statements and reviews them on a cyclical basis to ensure they are current and as useful as possible for discipline communities, in order to fulfil a range of purposes, such as securing academic standards in course design and review.
Over the past three years, we have reviewed 48 Statements, with an additional 7 currently being reviewed.
In 2026-27, we will be reviewing/developing the Subject Benchmark Statements for the following disciplines:
- Events, Hospitality, Leisure and Tourism
- Sports and Exercise Science (new Statement)
- Paramedics
- Cymraeg/Welsh
- Dietetics
- Materials
- Youth and Community Work
Expressions of interest are invited from the academic community, employers, professional, statutory and regulatory bodies (PSRBs), and students.
