Call for submissions: Medr-funded QAA Welsh Integrity and Assessment Network Symposium 2025
Date: | April 28 - 2025 |
---|
QAA has today opened a call for proposals for the upcoming Medr-funded QAA Welsh Integrity and Assessment Network (WIAN) Symposium. The event will be hosted online by QAA in partnership with the WIAN on Wednesday 4 June, between 10:00 and 13:30 BST. This is the third symposium hosted by the Network and it will build on the success of previous years.
The WIAN was established in September 2021 via grant arrangements with HEFCW and represents the Welsh higher education sector’s commitment to strengthening academic integrity, promoting inclusive and authentic assessment practice, and combatting academic misconduct. The foundation of the Network is QAA’s Academic Integrity Charter, of which all Welsh universities are signatories.
The Network is chaired by Professor Michael Draper (Swansea University) and Dr Mike Reddy (University of South Wales) who are also members of the UK Academic Integrity Advisory Group. The wider membership is representative of staff, students and learners from all regulated higher education providers in Wales, which includes the nine universities and two further education colleges, and NUS Wales. The Network is open to all tertiary education providers in Wales.
The upcoming symposium will be grounded in the themes of the Network, and we would particularly value proposals from tertiary education providers on:
- inclusive and authentic assessment practice
- digital assessment
- innovative practice in artificial intelligence
- students and learners as co-creators of assessment
- Welsh language and academic integrity.
Proposals from tertiary education providers across the UK, and internationally, are welcome. All proposals should be submitted via our online form, which also contains some more information about the event. The closing date for proposals is Monday 12 May at 09:30.
Proposals are welcome in English or Welsh.
Registration for the event is now open.
