Amity University achieves global quality reaccreditation

Date: September 1 - 2023

Amity University, Uttar Pradesh has successfully obtained global reaccreditation having completed QAA’s International Quality Review (IQR) for the second time. IQR is a rigorous process which benchmarks global higher education institutions against international quality assurance standards set out in Part 1 of the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG).

The review took place from 25 April to 5 May 2023 and was completed by a team of three independent reviewers. In making their conclusions, the review team confirmed that the University meets all 10 of the internal quality assurance standards in the ESG.

The review team also identified 10 examples of good practice including:

  • the comprehensive arrangements for addressing student feedback, in particular at programme level
  • the extensive arrangements for stakeholder engagement that enable the University to respond to the needs of industry
  • the breadth of valued initiatives that assist students in their transition to graduate employment
  • the wide-ranging and comprehensive scholarships that support student retention.

Professor Dr Balvinder Shukla, Vice-Chancellor at Amity University, Uttar Pradesh, said: ‘The International Quality Review orchestrated by QAA emerged as an extraordinary educational odyssey with the goal of elevating our university's operational frameworks. QAA's unwavering assistance and direction were apparent during all stages of the assessment. This endeavour not only bolstered our global standing but also fostered partnerships with esteemed institutions and researchers from top-tier universities. The emphasis on European Standards and Guidelines prompted us to realign our systems and processes, ensuring they conformed seamlessly to international standards.’

Vicki Stott, QAA’s Chief Executive said: 'This is an excellent achievement for Amity University, Uttar Pradesh, demonstrating its continued commitment to enhancing the quality of its students’ academic experience and their progression to employment. Through reaccreditation, the institution can demonstrate it remains comparable with global best practice in quality and standards, providing an excellent platform for developing international partnerships.'

QAA’s IQR accreditation applies for five years, subject to a satisfactory mid-cycle review. Amity University, Uttar Pradesh will be able to display QAA’s IQR accreditation badge, demonstrating that their quality assurance processes are comparable with international best practice. Amity University, Uttar Pradesh is also eligible to become a QAA International Member. International Quality Review is carried out in QAA’s capacity supporting the development of higher education quality internationally, including activity to support QAA Members and collaboration with international partners.

By securing global accreditation from QAA, international institutions can clearly spotlight their quality standards around the world, and more easily start a dialogue with institutions outside their own country.
