Throughout each ELIR cycle, we check Outcome and Technical Reports to identify common topics. We produce regular Thematic Reports to support learning from ELIR at the sector level. These cover areas of positive practice and areas for development.


In the early years of the ELIR cycle, we analyse Outcome Reports and produce a summary of emerging topics. For ELIR 3, we produced a Thematic Report in 2014 (covering the first four reviews in the cycle), and one in 2015 (covering the next four reviews).


Later in the ELIR cycle, we produce more in-depth reports on individual topics. These draw on both Outcome and Technical Reports, and vary in length and structure. We choose topics to inform and support other development work across the sector. This includes work we manage at QAA Scotland, such as the Enhancement Themes and Focus On.
