The 2022-23 Focus On topic is aligned to the Scottish Funding Council’s tertiary enhancement topic (The future of learning and teaching: defining and delivering an effective and inclusive digital/blended offering). This topic aligns closely with ELIR 4 outcomes and builds on recent Enhancement Themes work (in particular, the student-led projects on Digital Student Communities and Promoting the Equity of the Student Learning Experience.) It also presents an exciting opportunity for the whole tertiary sector to explore working collaboratively on a priority area.
For the first part of the session, QAA is working closely with other quality agencies (Education Scotland, the College Development Network (CDN) and Student Partnerships in Quality Scotland (sparqs)) to design and undertake research aimed at better understanding the topic across the whole tertiary sector.
Following this period of research, in keeping with previous Focus On projects, we will support staff and students to share practice and learn from each other, with an emphasis on timely, practical advice. Our key considerations are:
- the experiences of students and teaching staff;
- approaches to learning, teaching and assessment, and the quality assurance and enhancement of these activities.
Unlike previous Focus On projects, it is likely that this project will run for two academic sessions in line with the tertiary enhancement topic.
More details will be added to this page as the project progresses.
