QAA invites expressions of interest for Chairs and Deputy Chairs for Subject Benchmark Statement reviews
|Date:||September 8 - 2022|
QAA is inviting expressions of interest from the academic and subject communities to act as Chairs and Deputy Chairs for the review of 12 Subject Benchmark Statements. QAA leads the development of Subject Benchmark Statements and reviews them on a cyclical basis to ensure they are as useful as possible for discipline communities and can fulfill a range of purposes across the sector, including providing support for securing academic standards through course design and review.
QAA is committed to ensuring that the roles of Chair and Deputy Chair reflect the rich diversity of the subject communities, with the aim of promoting equality, diversity and inclusivity in the development and content of the Statements.
Dr Ailsa Crum, QAA’s Director of Membership, Quality Enhancement and Standards said: ‘The review of Subject Benchmark Statement is an excellent opportunity to draw on the varied expertise of academic subject communities. We are grateful to all of those who contribute their time towards the development of these important sector reference points, and warmly encourage individuals with expertise in the relevant subject areas to consider putting themselves forward for the next suite of reviews.’
In 2022-23, QAA will be reviewing the following subjects:
- Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Food and Consumer Sciences
- Area Studies
- Communication, Media, Film and Cultural Studies
- Creative Writing
