QAA Chief Executive appointed to ENQA Board
|Date:||October 17 - 2019|
QAA's Chief Executive, Douglas Blackstock, has today been appointed to join the Board of the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA), the representative body for European quality assurance agencies.
Douglas topped the poll with 32 out of the 46 member agencies voting for him. As a Board member, Douglas will join the body responsible for implementing the decisions of ENQA’s General Assembly of members and with overall responsibility for ENQA's management.
Douglas said 'It's an honour to be elected to ENQA's Board. The common framework of the European Standards and Guidance are a benchmark increasingly influencing policy across the world. The work of the Board is critical in maintaining their highest standards of quality, while allowing the flexibility ENQA members require to meet the needs of their jurisdictions. I'm looking forward to the challenge.'
