We work with governments, agencies and institutions in over 30 countries across the globe. This enables us to promote and improve understanding of quality assurance and enhancement between UK HE and our international partners, and is instrumental in helping to maintain and enhance UK higher education’s global reputation for excellence.
Our partnerships with overseas quality agencies, regulatory bodies and governments have continued to expand which builds understanding, trust and confidence in UK higher education, strengthening cross-border cooperation and mutual recognition.
Collaboration with many of our partners enables us to develop a range of events and resources including Country Reports, webinars and case studies, which provide advice and support to help members succeed in international partnerships and work including quality assuring and enhancing TNE delivery.

QAA’s Global team are uniquely placed to convene members to share the latest insights and provide a network to discuss latest developments in the management and quality assurance of transnational education (TNE). Through an annual programme of training, events and networks, we provide opportunities for members to learn and share practice about all aspects of managing TNE such as due diligence processes, academic standards and the student experience. Outputs enable individuals to access the information irrespective of their experience working in TNE, with activity ranging from an introductory training session on the quality assurance of TNE, to policy and practice networks designed to share views and challenges.
International Insights Members can access the Spotlight On - Quality and Standards in Transnational Education on the Membership Resources site. This document provides a taster of what’s coming up in this topic in this membership year and highlights some of the key challenges and topics members have identified.
QAA’s Global team draws on its extensive international activity and unique network of overseas partners to provide comprehensive insight into country and regional quality assurance systems throughout the world. Through an annual series of Country Reports, case studies and webinars, we provide members with regular insight into a wide range of countries including those with significant TNE, emerging markets and other countries identified as a priority by the UK Government. Reports include an introduction to the education system and a deeper analysis of the higher education environment, followed by a detailed description of the regulatory landscape which supports UK universities seeking to develop partnerships in country.
