We work collaboratively with our QAA Membership community in Wales across a range of activities specific to Wales to support our shared commitment to enhancing and enriching the learning experience of students.

Working with our partners, we seek to champion the interests of higher education with government, funders and partners, and promote partnership and sharing good practice between providers.

In 2023-24, we are working in partnership with our members to:

  • deliver the first year of a new Quality Enhancement Review method and enhance support for students involved in QAA’s review methods
  • produce a review findings directory and series of thematic reports from previous Quality Enhancement Reviews and Gateway Quality Reviews (Wales)
  • promote good practice and sector-wide learning and discussion through the member-led Wales Quality Network
  • develop a growing programme of collaborative enhancement activity
  • engage with key stakeholders including HEFCW, Universities Wales, Coleagu Cymru and Welsh Government, and support the implementation of the Tertiary Education and Research (Wales) Act 2022.

In Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland, members have access to an exclusive all-inclusive QAA Membership package, which automatically includes the International Insights enhancement service, specific activities in each devolved nation and access to the UK-wide member offer. QAA is committed to supporting collaborative working between the higher education sectors in Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland to promote partnership and opportunities for enhancing the student experience.

Here’s what our members say:

QAA Membership provides Bangor University with the collaborative networks and resources we need to provide transformative education for our students. We value its collaborative approach to raising standards through collegiate discussion and we recognise its key role in preserving the integrity of UK HE internationally. As our designated quality body in Wales, QAA is developing an evidence-based enhancement approach that will provide a solid basis for cross sector improvements for years to come.
