We deliver a wide variety of events and networking opportunities to support our members who are involved in engaging students in quality assurance and enhancement. These include a dedicated discussion forum for student engagement.
Our annual Quality Matters Conference was held this year in October and was very well received. It is aimed at newly elected officers and those new to student engagement. Resources from the event are available for QAA Members on our Membership Resources site.
In November 2020, we hosted a webinar which brought together a panel of student officers and student engagement practitioners to share examples of students leading successful projects which have enhanced quality practices and processes within their institutions. Examples included an access and widening participation team working with prospective students’ perceptions to enhance quality, creating partnership agreements with students, and applying an integrated curriculum design framework to an existing academic representative structure.
In June 2021, we ran our Evolving Student Engagement Conference, aimed at students’ union staff and HEI staff working in student engagement from our member institutions. The event happened over two days and was based around two themes: Equality, Diversity and Inclusion & Mental Health and Wellbeing; and Student Engagement in Teaching, Learning and Assessment. Resources from the event are available to QAA Members on our Membership Resources site. We have also published some of the key messages from the Conference below.
