Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework

The Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF) brings together all mainstream quality assured Scottish qualifications into a single, integrated framework. It is for people of all ages and circumstances. There are many different kinds of Scottish qualifications - Highers, SVQs, HNDs, degrees and many more. The SCQF gives each qualification credit points and a level to make it easier for you to compare one with another.

The SCQF is not a separate organisation. It is managed in partnership by QAA Scotland, the Scottish Qualifications Authority and Universities Scotland, and is supported by the Scottish Executive through the Enterprise and Lifelong Learning Department. There is an Implementation Group composed of organisations from the Joint Advisory Committee in Scotland for SCQF that is advising on the next stage of implementation.
