Reviewer extranet

​​From Monday 28 September 2015, reviewers should access our new Reviewer Extranet.  Review Methods will be migrated in stages. If you need help on how to navigate or use the Extranet including password changes, visit the help area of the site  or contact us via email at helpdesk@qaa.ac.uk.

Qmmunity is the QAA extranet and is a place where QAA officers and external users can securely access the QAA network via the Internet.

Reviewers will be able to use the extranet facility to access their review documentation through the Reviewers' Dashboard.

If you use a Mac or an iPad, or if you do not currently use Microsoft Office 2007, then you have the option to access Qmmunity via View (formerly known as Qomputer). View provides you with a centrally hosted, secure virtual QAA desktop, allowing you to work remotely from different locations and devices without having to worry about system compatibility.

Access to Eduroam

eduroam-logoQAA offers access service to guests from any eduroam registered institution. eduroam is currently operating in our head office in Gloucester, however we expect to expand this to all other QAA offices over time. QAA also offers at-home service to eduroam for reviewers and staff, so they may access the Internet wherever eduroam is made available. Access to QAA email

View Virtual Desktop

View is a virtual desktop service. It provides secure, online access to a remote virtual Windows terminal complete with the Microsoft Office 2007 suite and Internet Explorer software. The service is aimed at reviewers using software or computing platforms that are not compatible with QAA's extranet. Using View allows reviewers to make full use of QAA extranet services, such as Qmmunity.

Known issues

Before using View, please review our known issues. 

  • You should note that you can only use View when working online. You are not able to download documents from View to your computer to work offline. If you download documents using View, they will stay on the virtual desktop.
  • Certain versions of Windows have difficulties connecting or block the installation of the client programs. Please check that you click the approve/allow option when asked. Also ensure that the client program is allowed to make connections through any firewall software you run.
  • To avoid some password issues, please ensure you disconnect and logout rather than just disconnect from View.

QAA news is an email news alert providing higher education institutions and others with an interest in higher education a monthly update on news from QAA. It is a quick and easy way of finding out about consultations, events, and new publications and reports.

QAA news is used for sending messages from QAA to interested parties. It does not operate as a discussion list.
