Following the publication of our strengthened guidance on student employability, Derfel Owen meets with Professor Janice Kay, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the University of Exeter and Chair of the 1994 Group's Student Experience Policy Committee to talk about the 1994 Group's recent publication Beyond the Curriculum: Opportunities to enhance employability and future life choices.
This report presents a 'snapshot' that summarises and analyses current practice, highlights examples through case studies and looks forward with recommendations for universities, business and the Government.
Professor Janice Kay commented: “Employers are looking for something beyond the curriculum, it is really important for students to recognise that…Students should seize on opportunities to improve their curriculum vitae and actually doing that is often fun and enhances the student experience.”
