Office for Students now fully operational

Date 03/04/2018

The Office for Students, the regulator for higher education in England, is now fully operational. Universities, colleges and other providers of higher education that wish to register with the Office for Students may do so from today.

QAA Chief Executive Douglas Blackstock said:
'I look forward to working with Nicola Dandridge and the team at the Office for Students, helping to create the conditions for English higher education to thrive.'

As of 1 April 2018, QAA is formally the designated quality body in the new regulatory framework. QAA is working with the Office for Students to design and implement the quality and assessment functions set out in the Higher Education and Research Act 2017.
