Annual reception 2010
Each year, the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA) holds an annual reception to launch the QAA Annual review and to provide an opportunity for our various stakeholders to meet. This year the Rt Hon David Lammy MP, Minister of State for Higher Education and Intellectual Property, has kindly agreed to be our guest speaker.

Public, statutory and regulatory bodies (PSRB) forum - 'Supporting sustainability'
Examining the ways in which QAA and other organisations have attempted to minimise the cost of reviews, as well as their environmental impact. The event will be of interest to PSRB officers involved in the accreditation of higher education programmes and academic and professional standards.

Assuring quality and standards in higher education
QAA is holding two round-table meetings to discuss current projects. The projects are looking at whether the tools used by UK higher education institutions to set and maintain quality and standards are appropriate

QAA supports the Guardian's fourth annual higher education summit
QAA has again agreed to support the Guardian's fourth annual conference entitled 'The future of higher education'. QAA's Chief Executive Anthony McClaran has agreed to chair one of the breakout sessions focussing on the student experience.

The growth of private and for profit HE providers in the UK: Competition or collaboration?
The private higher education sector is emerging as a growing force in many parts of the world and presents a range of potential opportunities and challenges. A conference,organised by Universities UK and GuildHE, will examine the key issues around private provision such as quality assurance, regulation and funding, and will be an opportunity for consideration of collaboration and partnership. Carolyn Campbell, QAA's Head of International Affairs, is speaking at the conference.
