The UK Quality Code was developed with the higher education sector, and is maintained and published on their behalf, by QAA. It
sets out the Expectations that all providers of UK higher education are required to meet.
For a list of all the Expectations which make up the Quality Code, please see the Summary list of the 19 Expectations, or compile your own list using our

What the Quality Code covers
How the Quality Code is used
The Quality Code gives all higher education providers a shared starting point for setting, describing and assuring the academic standards of their higher education awards and programmes and the quality of the learning opportunities they provide.
Providers apply it in designing and delivering programmes of study, and use it to design their respective policies for maintaining academic standards and quality.
Our reviewers use it as the main reference point for their review work.
How the Quality Code is developed and revised
The general introduction provides an overview of the Quality Code: key features, why it's important and how it's used. You can also read the
