In 2013 QAA was reviewed by ENQA and was found to be the first quality assurance agency to have met all of the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the ESG. The ENQA report stated:

QAA's overall performance against the standards of the ESG is uniformly high. It is a trustworthy, effective and highly credible agency and a leader in the field. QAA is well-led and well-managed at both Board and Executive levels, with a strong Board, which is both well-informed and constructively challenging. The Panel has been consistently impressed by the calibre and professionalism of all those contributing to the work of QAA in maintaining quality and standards across higher education in the UK.

Capacity building and enhancement of quality assurance

We offer bespoke consultancy services to universities, government bodies and quality assurance agencies across the world to enable them to build capacity and enhance their approach to quality assurance. Alongside national-level capacity building, our services extend to individual institutions that wish to develop their internal approaches to quality.

Training for external quality review

Based on our experience of designing evidence-based academic peer reviews and training over a thousand reviewers, we offer our expertise to government bodies and quality assurance agencies across the world to support their methodology as well as training reviewers and staff.

International Quality Review

International Quality Review offers higher education institutions outside the UK the opportunity to have an evidence-based peer review by QAA. It is designed to analyse and reflect on institutions' own quality assurance approaches, to challenge and benchmark their existing processes against international quality assurance standards, and to support them to drive improvement and excellence in their own quality assurance approach.

Successful reviews enable institutions to demonstrate their own approaches to quality assurance are not only effective but also comparable with international best practice. IQR is a great place to start if your institution wants to attract more students, strengthen your global positioning or begin to form long-lasting partnerships with UK institutions.
