We believe strongly in working in partnership to support the quality assurance and enhancement of higher education in Scotland.
Enhancement Themes: we partner in, and manage, Enhancement Themes - a programme to enhance the student learning experience in Scottish higher education by identifying specific areas (Themes) for development.
Student participation in quality scotland (sparqs): we are members of a consortium of partners of sparqs, which supports the greater engagement of students in the management of quality assurance and enhancement in Scotland's higher education institutions and colleges. We are members of the sparqs steering committee and carry out joint events and activities to support student participation in our work.
Scottish Credit and Qualifications Partnership: we are core members of the partnership, which promotes lifelong learning and which we manage with the Scottish Qualifications Authority, Universities Scotland, Scotland’s Colleges and the Scottish Government.
Quality enhancement framework: we work in partnership with the Scottish Funding Council (SFC), Universities Scotland, NUS Scotland and the Higher Education Academy (HEA) to manage the quality enhancement framework.
International benchmarking: our work on the international benchmarking of research degrees is taken forward as part of a wider integrated programme of work with the Scottish Funding Council, Vitae and the Higher Education Academy.
Personal development planning (PDP): we work with the Higher Education Academy and the Centre for Recording Achievement to support higher education institutions in Scotland to implement and develop PDP.
The Scottish Employability Forum (SEF): a joint initiative involving ourselves, HEA, SFC and Universities Scotland to support and engage with the sector on employability and related issues. A key role of SEF will be to support the various SFC-funded collaborative ‘Learning to Work 2’ projects on work placements.
We also work closely with the sector on recognition of prior learning (RPL) and work-based learning (WBL).
