What are they about?
QAA is opening its consultation on the content of Part A: Setting and maintaining threshold academic standards, Chapter B1: Programme design and approval, Chapter B6: Assessment of students and accreditation of prior learning and Chapter B8: Programme monitoring and review.
The four consultation documents, background information, and guidance about how to respond are available on the consultation page.
As part of the consultation process, QAA will be holding four consultation discussion events throughout the UK. These events are intended to bring together representatives from across UK higher education and other interested parties to facilitate their responses to the proposed reference points.
A provisional programme for the events is now available. Registration is free.
Where and when?
Cardiff - 19 June at the Radisson Blu Hotel
Belfast - 20 June at Queens University Belfast (please note this will be a half day event, with its own programme)
Edinburgh - 26 June at the Radisson Blu Hotel
London - 5 July at Woburn House Conference Centre (this event has now reached capacity so registration is closed)
Please note, these consultation events are being held within the same timescales as the consultation events for Chapter B2: Admission to higher education.
In Cardiff, Edinburgh and London the consultation event for Part A, Chapter B1, Chapter B6 and Chapter B8 will be held the day after the Chapter B2 consultation event. At the Belfast event the Chapter B2 consultation event will be held in the morning and the Part A, Chapter B1, Chapter B6 and Chapter B8 consultation event will be held in the afternoon. The two sets of events are independent of each other and will concentrate on the different Chapters.
Information on the Chapter B2 events is also available.
Who should attend?
These events will be of interest to higher education staff that have a remit or interest in standards, assessment, programme approval and review. In addition student representatives, representative bodies, employer groups and policy makers may also be interested.
